Was 80 trades enough?

Just to ask the Q


I am currently Nr.180 in the world ranking and in a tight race for 1st place in my division

One week back i was pretty comfortable with my trades situation but now its becoming a worrying element

4 Reasons:

1- With the regulars gone:
Giteau
Thompson
Mcabe
Nonu
O'Connor
Messam
Pyle
Robinson
Pretorius
Cruden
Vito
Sivivatu

2- I backed the Bulls to trash the Sharks :( Matfield, Spies, Olivier, Basson,Steyn all gone)

3- Injury list is growing: Polatu-Nau (so far)

And 4 - Reds/Stormers bye: (Cooper,Genia,Ione,Horwill,Davies,Faingaa,Burger,Bekker,Fourie,Aplon,Grant,Habana gone)

I facing two choices now:

Either spread out my team choices trough as much teams as possible, but risk running short on trades at final time. OR Back a team that will go trough all the way like the Saders or Blues and risk major disaster

Its now a true test of skill and judgement..

My most likely team will be: (if no one is injured by Thursday)

Lambie
McAlister
Fruean

Guildford

With 12 trades left.. What is my chances?

Team Spiester - you have 12 trade left. I am down to 6. I basically faced the same situation with regulars gone and others injured, or on Bye. I am backing the blues and saders, and hope they make it to finals without anyone getting injured.

Need more trades for the finals

Well, this year was a new format and it was always going to be tough to judge trade allocation. When we started out, i thought that 80 trades was to much.
The triple team bye's really affected selection big time, and also major injuries! Mitchel,Thompson,Carter,Maitland,Lambie.. if i can recall, the only regular,never to have a injuries or miss a game was Quade???

Atleast its affecting everyone, all 5 top players thats racing to the finish in our division (incl me) have the same amount of trades.. But now, ill come back to the Question of "to buy,or not to buy" when the final comes

You could speculate that they didn't think it through, only offering that many trades when clearly many players need to be traded out each week , or you could speculate that they thought it through quite well and that is why they made it only twenty trades.They may be betting that many people WILL buy trades if it comes down to a whole series being wasted. Either way, it is what it is.
And the winner is...Ka-Ching.... Test Rugby.

Nowhere near enough trades for the last 4 rounds! Specially with byes numbers 31 and 32 for top two seeds, injuries, rotations, etc. Whatever the decision, it needs to be made clear promptly, as it will affect player selections. If delayed, it will cause much more of unhappiness. TMO.

I fully agree with this - I even left transfers after every round, to have at least 5 extra trades per round, but after round 18 I had to sell 9 solid point scorers, which has left me with 14 trades - and I cannot see this taking me through 5 games... and please I'm not interested in cheating the system by buying more trades...
