Super Rugby Round 4 threw up some surprising results. The South African sides put their New Zealand rivals to the sword, yet there were more New Zealand franchise players in the Team of the Round than either Australia or South Africa.
The www.testrugby.com Super Rugby Round 4 Player of Round 4 was the Highlanders winger Kade Poki who scored three tries in an otherwise disappointing performance by the Highlanders. Poki is in the best form of his career, although the Highlanders as a team were completely outplayed by the fired up Cheetahs! Considering he costs around the $1 million mark, Poki offers excellent value for money!
There were plenty of surprise inclusions in the Super Rugby Team of Round 4 with the loose forward and midfield back positions showing that you don't have to spend heaps of money to get big points. Half of the Super Rugby Team of Round 4 cost less than $1 million.
There are now some big names coming into the Team of the Round including Andries Bekker and Dan Carter, while Ged Robinson, Steven Luatua, Stephen Moore and Julian Savea look like good long term options. Be aware that the Blues, Rebels and Stormers have the bye next weekend and this means that four players from the Round 4 Team of the Round won't be playing.
