Scotty Donaldson looks at players to watch for during Super Rugby Round 5! Who do you think will dominate Round 5?
Super Rugby Round 5 sees some interesting matches with plenty of quality teams playing overseas, making for some difficult to pick matches. There are two teams likely to dominate this round and players from the Chiefs and Reds look likely to score some great www.testrugby.com points. There are also some players being rested, rotated, returning to action or injured and three teams, the Stormers, Blues and Rebels have the bye, so there are plenty of bargains and even more reason to look for the updated starting teams named here

You don't have to spend the big bucks to get the top points scorers. There have been some big points scoring midfield backs, loose forwards, locks and frontrowers who have also been cheap.
Here are my Super Rugby Round 5 - Ten Players To Watch based on www.testrugby.com points.
1) Gareth Anscombe (Chiefs) - Anscombe is a must have against the Kings this weekend. He is a goalkicker who also scores tries.
2) Liam Messam (Chiefs) - Messam is celebrating his 100th game and is due for a big points haul.
3) Ross Filipo (Chiefs) - Filipo gets his first start of the season at Number Eight even though he is listed as a lock. The Chiefs should also win, so Filipo is a must have, although plenty depends on if he plays well enough to become a regular fixture at Number Eight.
4) Julian Savea (Hurricanes) - Savea is a dynamic winger with plenty of X Factor. He will be a challenge for the Highlanders defence.
5) Pieter Labuschagne (Cheetahs) - This guy was on fire when the Cheetahs demolished the Highlanders in Invercargill. He made a whopping 22 tackles. He also got five go forwards. He is the top loose forward in the game at the moment with 1015 points from three games. He also costs only $685,000.
6) Liam Gill and Ed Quirk (Reds) - The Reds flankers have been great budget buys this season. The Reds should win handsomely against the Force and if you are looking for try scorers then these guys could be in with a shot. Also if you are in a competition where you get points for being in a winning team, then these guys are great value for money.
7) Stephen Moore (Brumbies) - The Brumbies are one of the teams that have had the bye round and are in great form. Stephen Moore will be in the thick of the action as the starting hooker for the Brumbies against the big South African packs.
8) Brodie Retallick (Chiefs) - This new All Black has joined Andries Bekker in the boutique buy locks. It all depends if you think paying $1.2 million for someone who scores an average of 250 points per game is worth it. I personally try to save money in the locks and use the money elsewhere.
9) Tim Nanai - Williams (Chiefs) - This guy is so light on his feet an ellusive. He should be a handful at centre for the Kings defence.
10) Jacques Engelbrecht (Kings) - The Kings will have their work cutout against the Chiefs, but this loose forward has scored at least 300 points in each game and costs just over $500,000. You don't have to be in the high profile teams to get good points. Some loose forwards from the lesser lights get plenty of points.
There are also some players who are returning to start their first game back who I think could be worth a punt if you are looking for someone different. It could be worth waiting a week before buying these players. Jason Emery (Highlanders), TJ Ioane (bench) (Highlanders), John Ulugia (Waratahs), Keegan Daniel (Sharks), Fotu Auelua (Brumbies) and George Smith (Brumbies). Smith and Daniel have been studs in the past, but may take a week or two to get into the groove. Emery and Highlanders team mate TJ Ioane are exciting players who could flourish once they get regular game time. John Ulugia could be of value depending on how long he gets to start for.
