Super 15 Rugby Round 9 Team of the Round includes several familiar faces, but it has been a while since we last saw them in this team. There are plenty of kiwis in the Team of the Round.
Super 15 Rugby Round 9 Team of the Round features some new faces and plenty of familiar older faces from previous Super Rugby seasons. Stormers kicker Peter Grant scored the most points this week. He is a good option assuming that he is kicking rather than Joe Pietersen who used to kick for the Stormers. Some familiar older faces we haven't seen for a while include Mike Delany who is back from Japan. Several Crusaders rose to the challenge and Sam Whitelock, Kieran Read, Robbie Fruean and Israel Dagg will be great options moving forward for the Crusaders who look like a Super Rugby title contender. It was a New Zealand benefit with Blues Charlie Faumauina and Hadleigh Parkes also making the team along with Hosea Gear and Victor Vito. This means that nine players from the Super 15 Rugby Round 9 Team of the Round are New Zealanders, while there is only one South African. Australian captain James Horwill scored heavily from lock and is joined by countryman Tatafu Polatu-Nau. Regular inclusion in the Team of the Round James O'Connor, is injured and will most likely miss the next six weeks. This is a major blow for the Rebels.
