Ospreys fly-half Dan Biggar has hailed the talent of his Leicester counterpart Toby Flood ahead of their Heineken Cup meeting on Sunday.
Those who bet on sports reckon that the match at Welford Road could be the clash of round two, with both teams knowing that a victory could go a long way to helping them qualify from their ultra-competitive group, which also includes Toulouse and Treviso.
Despite not being first-choice for their countries, both Biggar and Flood and have been mentioned as possible British Lions tourists to Australia in the summer, due to their ability to manage their backlines and guide their teams around the field.
The two sides had contrasting starts to their European campaigns last week, with the Ospreys claiming an opening bonus point victory over Treviso, while the Tigers struggled to a disappointing defeat in the South of France.
Flood came in for plenty of criticism for his display at the rainy Stade Municipal last Sunday, as he and half-back partner Ben Youngs repeatedly tried to run Toulouse off the park, rather than play the percentages.
It means he will be looking for a huge performance on Sunday and despite his opponent’s recent troubles, Biggar is excited about taking on who many with the inside betting line rate as one of the best in Europe.
"Personally I rate him as one of the best in Great Britain," Biggar told the ercrugby.com.
"He doesn't get quite the credit he deserves. He's a great player, perfect for Leicester. He knows their game plan inside out, gives them what they want, and that's directness and honesty.
"He knows exactly where people need to be and that's very underrated in a fly-half. He's one of the best in Europe and I'm looking forward to a head-to-head with him.”
