Do you agree with the statistics? Who would you pick instead?
Super Rugby Round 14 Team of the Round is here, based on statistics from fantasy rugby website www.testrugby.com . There are plenty of players from the Reds vs Rebels game which was not only high scoring in rugby terms, but also in fantasy rugby competitions with five Reds and two Rebels making the team.
The entire Reds front row and four of the Reds tight five made this team. Given how poorly the Reds have been playing in 2015, this trend probably won't continue. Australian players don't usually dominate tight fives!
Players were selected on their actual jersey numbers, rather than where they are listed as in fantasy rugby games. Interestingly, Michael Leitch scored less points than a number of loose forwards who didn't make the team of the round, as he was the highest scoring Number Eight.
The best player of Super Rugby Round 14 was Lions loose forward Jaco Kriel, while other players to standout were James O'Connor as a rare goalkicking outside back, while Sefanaia Naivalu is an outside back listed in the midfield, so there are some good players outside of the top teams. Bernard Foley and two try hero Ma'a Nonu also made the team.
Some familiar faces made the team this week with Luke Jones, Akira Ioane and George Moala offering some good value fantasy rugby deals.
