Richard Kahui is out of the All Blacks training squad, but who should be his replacement?
All Blacks centre Richard Kahui has a serious shoulder injury which
will see him on the sidelines for a long time. While Willison Jackson
will probably replace him for the Chiefs, it is difficult to know who
will step into the All Blacks training squad. Because Kahui has value
as a midfield back or winger it increases the chances of squad members
Tamati Ellison and Ben Smith making the All Blacks bench. It has helped
to solve the great midfield conundrum too since the All Blacks have
Sonny Bill Williams, Ma'a Nonu and Conrad Smith as options there. The
All Blacks look a bit short on wingers now.
Who do you
think will replace Kahui in the All Blacks? Will they bother naming a
replacement since it is only for three tests against Ireland and
selectors have already named 34 other players in the squad?
The
options if he is replaced include some quality players unlucky to be
left out in the first place in Crusaders Robbie Fruean and Zac
Guildford, Highlanders winger Hosea Gear, Chiefs winger Lelia Masaga,
Blues utility Rene Ranger and impressive Hurricanes fullback Andre
Taylor.
