Scotty Donaldson previews Six Nations Round 3. Who are you picking to win? Which match are you looking forward to the most?
Six Nations Round 3 means there is wall to wall rugby on over the
weekend, especially now that Super Rugby 2013 has started. There are
some mouthwatering clashes this weekend, with the England vs France
match the one I am looking forward to the most. It is difficult to
believe that after only two rounds, England is the only unbeaten team
and France is at the bottom of the table. There are plenty of www.testrugby.com
bargains because there are significant players out with injury. Some
of these players like Christophe Samson, Yoann Maestri, Peter O'Mahony,
Luke Marshall, Richard Hibbard, Paddy Jackson and Ratu Manoa Vosawai
could be worth a shot if you have places to make up on your rivals or
are short of money.
Italy vs Wales
Both teams will be desperate for a win here to remain in the hunt.
Italy will really miss their captain Sergio Parisse and I think that
Wales should be too strong. The Red Dragon as defending champions will
be looking for their second win in a row and will be disappointed if
they don't get the victory here, even though it is away from home.
Players to watch - Leigh Halfpenny, Andrew Coombs, Toby Faletau, Leonardo Ghiraldini, Alessandro Zanni, Ratu Manoa Vosawai.
My pick - Wales by 7.
England vs France
France have made plenty of changes for their clash with England in an
attempt to gain some pride and bring their rivals down a peg or two. I
am mainly interested in the midfield battle between the Fofana and
Bastareaud combo vs Barritt and Tuilagi. It seems that France hate
being the favourites and since they are going into this match as
underdogs it could be a chance for them to spice up the Six Nations
2013.
Players to watch - Manu Tuilagi, Wesley Fofana, Chris Robshaw, Mike
Brown, Owen Farrell, Yoann Maestri, Christophe Samson, Louis Picamoles,
Freddie Michalak.
My pick - England by 6.
Scotland vs Ireland
This Celtic battle is crucial if either of these teams are to have a
shot at winning the title. Scotland showed against Italy that they can
play some great rugby, while Ireland will be hoping that their new red
haired first five eighth called Paddy, while they will be missing some
of their highly rated players like Stephen Ferris, Gordon D'Arcy and
Simon Zebo. My heart says Scotland, but my head still says Ireland.
Players to watch - Matt Scott, Sean Maitland, Stuart Hogg, Richie Gray, Peter O'Mahony, Sean O'Brien.
My pick - Ireland by 7.
