Should New Zealand rugby crowds stop booing Quade Cooper?
All Black Israel Dagg has come out in defence of Queensland Reds and
Wallaby play maker Quade Cooper, asking New Zealand crowds to stop booing
him. Not only did the Crusaders demolish the Queensland Reds but Quade
Cooper was largely ineffective. Do you think New Zealand crowds should
stop booing Quade Cooper? Rugby fan Ryan Lobb suggests it gives him
recognition he doesn't deserve anymore.
It seems that the booing is taking it's toll on Cooper as he looks a bit
spooked. The other thing is that teams now know about Quade Cooper's
fragile defence and he has become a target for the opposition. The
sight of seeing Quade Cooper on the field, inspires the opposition and
the fans to actually spark into action.
I think that booing is poor sportsmanship by the crowd, but if it puts
the opposition off then is it a bad thing? Surely the point of a home
advantage is to provide an advantage for the home team. It would be
better if this was achieved through positive cheering on of the home
team rather than bringing down the opposition. But it is the most vocal
I have seen New Zealand crowds in ages. It does show you how precious
we are of Richie McCaw since the Quade Cooper incident really sparked
this hatred.
The thought that new Wallabies coach will bring Quade Cooper back into
the Wallabies is surely a mouth watering proposition for New Zealand
rugby fans.
