Scotty Donaldson looks at Super Rugby Round 4 pick the player and results. Who is going to win? Crusaders or Hurricanes? Stormers or Chiefs?
Super Rugby Round 4 starts with a must win derby between the Hurricanes and the Crusaders and includes two derby matches in Australia, three potentially one sided matches and the match of the round is the Stormers vs Chiefs. For those in virtual and fantasy rugby competitions I have included my picks further down this post. This week should be relatively easy to pick in most cases, although some teams are starting to rotate players, so check the Super Rugby 2013 Round 4 team lists here
The Crusaders and Hurricanes meet in a tantalising match in the capital. Both teams are yet to win a game and were both disappointing last week in their respective matches. This game should be close, although at this stage both teams will have to raise their games if they are to surpass their 2012 seasons.
The Brumbies and Reds should be too strong for their Australian rivals this week. The Brumbies look like the best Australian side this season, while the Reds look to be improving after their initial defeat at the hands of the Brumbies.
The Highlanders and Blues should be too strong when they host the Cheetahs and Bulls respectively. Both of these matches should be quite entertaining with the Blues the hottest ticket in town playing a Sunday afternoon game ensuring plenty of tries and both the Cheetahs and Highlanders enjoying playing a free flowing style of game this season.
The defending champions, Chiefs have recorded two big wins, but it is difficult to know how they will go here against the Stormers. These two teams finished one and two last year, although they go into this game with contrasting form. The Stormers rely on their big defence and will need to somehow score some points too if they are to topple the high flying Chiefs. This could go either way, but I am thinking that the Stormers will just win given they are at home for the first time this season.
Finally, the Kings could be in for a shock when they face the Sharks. The Sharks are probably the strongest South African team and should win easily over the new boys.
Here are my picks for Super Rugby 2013 Round 4.

10 Fantasy Rugby Player Picks
For www.testrugby.com managers here are some players worth picking for Super Rugby Round 4 action.
1) Lima Sopoaga (Highlanders) - The Cheetahs aren't known for their defence and so the Highlanders first five who has a great running game and is their goalkicker should score some great points.
2) Patrick Lambie (Sharks) - If you didn't pick up Patrick Lambie last week, then get him this week as he should put the Kings to the sword.
3) Steven Luatua (Blues) - Assuming he is starting at Number Six, this guy is a great option for lock.
4) Charles Piutau (Blues) - Assuming he is starting on a dry track for a day game against the Bulls, Piutau is a great acquisition.
5) Andrew Hore (Highlanders) - Hore is back from his suspension and as captain of the Highlanders he should see plenty of minutes this season and he usually scores some tries.
6) Stephen Moore (Brumbies) - Moore is back with the Brumbies looking to dominate the Waratahs watch for Stephen Moore to put in some big minutes.
7) Jesse Mogg (Brumbies) - Mogg is a prolific try scorer and sometimes does the goalkicking for the Brumbies.
8) Kieran Read (Crusaders) - Read was one of the few standouts for the Crusaders against the Blues last week and this All Blacks superstar is a big points scorer.
9) Tatafu Polatu-Nau (Waratahs) - This guy is a consistent scorer and one of the best Waratahs this season.
10) Frank Halai (Blues), Hosea Gear (Highlanders) and Lwazi Mvovo (Sharks) - These guys are odds on to score some tries this weekend and increase your chances of getting try scoring bonus points.
