The cancellation of Saturday night's match in Wellington because of the Christchurch earthquake means that you should dump your Crusaders and Hurricanes players immediately. This affects my team, but the good folk at http://www.testrugby.com/ are coming up with some bonus trades for those managers involved. The Hurricanes are due to have the bye the following round, so it is definitely worth getting rid of them. The Force have the bye, so get rid of them too.
I had a mixed first round, so am taking some punts with my selections which are largely influenced by Round One performances. I have gone for some Stormers players including Deon Fourie at hooker who will hopefully perform well in the absence of Tiaan Liebenberg. I was tempted by hookers from the Reds, Waratahs and Sharks who all did well last week, but are more expensive. I have also decided to save money with some cheap Waratah forwards at lock, while don't get sucked into buying the bargain priced Cheetah loose forward Phillip Van Der Walt because superstar Juan Smith is bracketed with him. I have replaced Ma'a Nonu and James O'Connor with Jaque Fourie and Matt Giteau, knowing that goal kickers listed in other positions can be very useful when on winning teams (Brumbies play the Rebels this week). Drew Mitchell and Gerhard van den Heever have already shown their try scoring ability.
