Be warned managers, Dan Carter is injured, making Aaron Cruden a viable option. With the All Blacks become the "Old Blacks" expect to see plenty more of this type of thing!
Will Carter's absence affect the All Blacks chances of winning?
Dan Carter is out of rugby for 3 to 4 weeks with a calf injury and will miss about half of the Rugby Championship which starts this weekend. The All Blacks have got used to not having the legendary Dan Carter in their side, but have now found two worthy replacements in Aaron Cruden and Beauden Barrett. The All Blacks depth is the envy of most other countries given how impressive both Cruden and Barrett have been in the past year.
All Blacks fans need to get used to injuries to their superstars because the team is carrying plenty of players over the age of 30 in their squad. Unfortunately injuries are more common as you get older and they can take longer to recover from!
Will the absence of Dan Carter affect the chances of the All Blacks retaining the Rugby Championship?
I think Cruden is up to a level where the All Blacks won't lose much, although Carter's kicking game, defence and organisational skills are difficult to match. Some people actually think Cruden is better than Carter now.
