The Super Rugby Elimination Finals are over with the Crusaders looking impressive. Can anyone beat the Crusaders?
The Super Rugby Elimination Finals are over and the Crusaders are looking unstoppable.
The Crusaders were impressive in demolishing the Reds 38-9 in Christchurch. They are hitting top gear at the business end of the competition and this must be worrying for the other teams in the competition. This victory was predicted by 93 percent of SuperBru tipsters. The Crusaders will head to Hamilton to face the Chiefs. Can anyone beat this Crusaders juggernaut? Not only have they got a team stacked with All Blacks, but they have superstar Dan Carter leading them around and a certain All Blacks captain Richie McCaw coming off the bench. The Chiefs are the top finishing New Zealand team, but given that they were humbled by the Crusaders recently, they may struggle at home. This game is going to be epic!
If the Crusaders beat the Chiefs then they will have to win the final in either Pretoria, South Africa or Canberra, Australia.
In the second Super Rugby Elimination Final the Brumbies kicked their way to a 15-13 win over the gutsy Cheetahs. The Brumbies just couldn't penetrate the Cheetahs defence, but despite scoring two tries, the gutsy Cheetahs just couldn't kick their goals, with goal kicking pivot Riaan Smit's last minute conversion hitting the post. It would have been great to take the game to extra time.
In SuperBru, 62 percent of tipsters picked the Brumbies to win. Those who picked an upset were almost rewarded with a Cheetahs win. Gecko is back in the lead, but the chasing pack is close behind!
The Brumbies were lucky to escape with the win, but will have their work cut out if they are to beat the Bulls in Pretoria next weekend and if they can win they will be so beaten up that it will be tough to tackle either the Chiefs or Crusaders.
For www.testrugby.com managers it is probably best to pick players from teams you expect to be in the Final. The Bulls and Crusaders are probably the most likely players to go for, but don't completely rule out players from the Chiefs and Brumbies if you have some spare trades.
Can anyone stop the Crusaders? They will have to win two away games including a potential away Final against the Bulls in Pretoria, South Africa.
