South Africa and Sharks stand-off Patrick Lambie feels his club side have plenty more to show despite their convincing win over the Bulls in their Super Rugby opener.
It was Jake White’s men who managed to come out on top in the all-South African contest, winning 31-16 at Kings Park last weekend.
With an impressive performance and a four-try bonus point too, it looked like the start head coach White would have dreamed of when thinking of how to attack this Super rugby campaign.
However the standards are clearly very high in the Sharks camp and they could well be a side challenging at the business end of the competition against the best of New Zealand and Australia.
Much like many fans who bet on rugby, Springboks star Lambie was pleased with the win over the Bulls but feels his side can still go up a few more gears in the months to come.
The 23-year-old was keen to send out a message to the team’s rivals that a bonus-point win in their opening game was only the beginning of what they aim to achieve in the 2014 Super Rugby campaign.
He was quoted on the rugby betting page on the bet365 website, saying: "I think there definitely is a feeling that we can get a lot better.
"Our shape can improve, our work off the ball can improve and there are other aspects too.
"We don't feel like we played that much or that well, which is an encouraging thing and we will be looking to improve throughout this week and put that into practice."
